There is a file in which I can set from what interfaces dhcp can provide ip and etc.there was a line like this
interface = 'eth0 eth1'
The route will get set up when one of the interfaces comes up. Find the section that corresponds to the interface that this route will be set up on. At the bottom of this section, add the following line: up route add -net 192.168.40.0/24 gw 192.168.30.1 dev em1 Modify the above to suit the route. Static routing is the term used to refer to the manual method used to set up routing. An administrator enters routes into the router using configuration commands. This method has the advantage of being predictable, and simple to set up.
What is the file's name?

The file you're looking for is:
/etc/network/interfaces
You can find a reference for the structure of this file by taking a look at

and also in the online manpage. 1,77011 gold badge1414 silver badges3030 bronze badges
Your question is a bit confusing, but allow me to but on my mind reading cap for a bit and make a few guesses.
I am guessing that you are running the ISC DHCPd server that comes as a package. It has several files related to the configuration and startup
- /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf : Main configuration file
- /etc/init.d/dhcp3-server : Startup script
- /etc/default/dhcp3-server : A bash fragment that that is sourced by the startup script.
An example
Zoredache/etc/default/dhcp3-server
config fileZoredache
